Currently the Orbis Romanus Atlas uses four types of data files. These data files are variable record length ascii files and can be edited with any text editor. The DataKey explains the contents of individual records.
containing ancient and modern names and positions of rivers.
containing ancient names of tribes and the locations and time spans of their habitats.
containing ancient and modern names of and position of mountain ranges and other geophysical objects like mountain pathes, islands etc.
This is the main file type describing positions, names, time spans and all functions of geographical locations (places).
